Important Notice: Plant Care After Delivery

Please do NOT re-pot your plant within the first 2 days of receipt. Plants experience shipping stress, and re-potting too soon can cause root rot, leaf drop, or make plants vulnerable to infections. To ensure healthy recovery, wait at least 2 weeks before re-potting. Any guarantees will be void if a plant is re-potted during this period.

Live Arrival Guarantee

At Shrubs4Life, we guarantee that all plants will arrive alive and healthy, showing no signs of distress beyond normal shipping effects. Minor cosmetic damage, such as some brown leaves or slight foliage wear, is common and does not affect long-term health. Some older root decay may be present but is natural if healthy new roots exist.

If you suspect your plant arrived in poor condition, please contact us within 24 hours at info@shrubs4life.com with clear photos and a description. We will assess and provide a replacement or appropriate solution promptly.

Please note:

The live arrival guarantee does not apply if:

  • You provide an incorrect or incomplete delivery address.
  • You fail to collect the package promptly.
  • You do not cooperate with the courier for damaged package inspections.

Once you have accepted delivery and the plant is deemed healthy, ongoing care becomes the purchaser’s responsibility. No replacements are offered beyond the live arrival guarantee window.

Plant Sizing and Photo Accuracy

We strive for accurate plant representation on our website:

  • Product photos show the exact plant(s) you will receive or representative examples of sizing and quality.

  • Plants may be larger than photos due to growth after photography.

  • Natural leaf ageing and variegation changes may occur and are normal.

  • For mixed listings or size variants, descriptions apply to each selection.

Because plants are living organisms, some variation is inevitable. You are welcome to request specific features or characteristics in the “Notes” field at checkout, but please note these requests are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

Returns and Replacements

  • We do not accept returns of healthy plants due to the nature of living products.

  • If your plant arrives dead or in unacceptable condition, a replacement of equivalent value will be provided. To claim, please email info@shrubs4life.com within 24 hours with photos and description.

  • In some cases, we may request the damaged plant to be returned with a prepaid return waybill provided by us. The plant must be shipped back within 1 business day of waybill issuance, and shipment confirmed by tracking or courier receipt.

  • If you receive the wrong product, please notify us within 24 hours of delivery to arrange a return and exchange or refund.

Refunds and Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation requests made within 24 hours of purchase are eligible for a full refund.

  • Cancellations after 24 hours will receive online store credit only.

  • Refunds for plants must follow our returns policy; refunds are issued after return and inspection where applicable.

  • We do not guarantee future variegation stability; variegated plants are chimeric and may change. Buyers should research plant care and accept these risks.

  • Incorrect plant ID claims are eligible for refunds or credit only upon safe return of the plant.

Subscription, Pre-order, and Special Purchase Policies

Subscriptions

  • Subscriptions provide repeat deliveries at intervals chosen by you.

  • Payment will be charged automatically as per your subscription schedule unless you pay upfront.

  • Auto-renewal may apply. You can manage or cancel subscriptions anytime via your order confirmation emails.

  • Refer to our Returns Policy for subscription-related returns and refunds.

Pre-orders

  • Pre-orders are for out-of-stock or soon-to-be-available plants where payment may be partial or deferred.

  • You may cancel unpaid or partially paid pre-orders before fulfillment.

  • Once fulfilled, pre-orders cannot be cancelled; refunds or credits may be requested following the Returns Policy.

Shipping Policy Summary

We ship plants nationwide across South Africa via door-to-door courier or convenient courier lockers. Local pickup is available by appointment. International shipping inquiries should be directed to us via email.

  • We dispatch plants on Mondays and Tuesdays to avoid weekend delays.

  • Shipping delays beyond our control (courier-related) do not void our policies.

  • Customers must provide valid courier-friendly addresses and collect promptly to maintain live arrival guarantee eligibility.

  • All plants are carefully packaged. Report damages with photographic evidence upon receipt immediately to preserve replacement rights.
